WINNERS OF THE CARBON REDUCTION CATEGORY WERE:- BANDVULC TYRES, IVYBRIDGE
From its headquarters in Ivybridge the Bandvulc Group is at the forefront of commercial tyre retreading technology supplying to major UK and European Fleets. The overall DEBI Awards winner in 2006 Bandvulc have continued to significantly build on their early success and have put carbon reduction at the forefront of their strategy. This has been achieved with an enthusiasm and determination that is apparent throughout all areas of the business.
In the last three years they have focused on those remaining areas of the business that are the biggest source of carbon emissions. Using the same approach of measurement, analysis and action they have achieved substantial and measurable reduction in the use of diesel in their HGV fleet.
Not content with this, they have developed their own low rolling resistance tyre; focused on logistics to reduce distribution mileage; invested in operational improvements to minimise carbon emissions and sustained an awareness and communication campaign that has supported employee engagement.
